Information & History

LowTrades.com was created as a division of Success Trade Securities, Inc. in 1999 to cater to the growing number of retail investors looking to self-direct their own investment accounts. LowTrades was founded with the belief that the individual investor has access to an abundance of free information via the Internet. By simply providing quick, efficient, and reliable transactions, we are able to keep our commissions among the lowest in the industry.

The cornerstone of our pricing structure is simple:

When you do the research and have experience with trading online, you should be rewarded.

We believe that investors with less experience require more time and assistance and this simply adds to our costs. Our top priority is you, our customer. We want to ensure that our customers are satisfied and enjoying the LowTrades experience from the moment they log in. The moment you as our customer logs in, you should be enjoying the LowTrades experience. We define the customer experience as the ease of use and navigation through our website, latest technology and trading tools, reliability, low commissions and above all, quality of execution along with support from our experienced Customer Relations team.

Diversification and established relationships project us beyond the industry norm.

In order to provide quality executions, we have spent years establishing relationships with major Wall Street firms and exchanges to bring you a very diverse pool of market makers, specialists and exchanges. Unlike other discount firms who rely only on a few market centers, we are able to route orders to a variety of market centers through our proprietary order routing technology. We continously assess the quality of execution provided by each market maker on an on-going basis. In addition, our technology is designed and maintained in-house by experienced programmers and developers.

We control the whole process from order entry to routing to execution.

We believe that owning our own technology is critical in providing the execution quality our customers expect from us, and this defines one of the most important aspects of our standards for excellent quality care. Our innnovation extends from the belief that in order to stay competitive, it is essential we invest significantly in technology so that we can bring the latest trading tools to our customers. We are one of the few select firms in the U.S. owning proprietary front and back end trading technology. This allows us to control all the processes, thereby reducing dependence on third party software companies.

We use our experience to manage our operations effectively and efficiently and have streamlined our internal processes so that we can keep down our costs. By providing customers access to their account information, statements, and confirmations online, we are able to minimize our expenses and are thus able to pass on the savings to our customers in the form of low commissions.

The bottom line is we give the power to make an experienced investor realize their goals, providing the tools for today's traders.

We look for investors who have online trading experience. It is the serious investor who is responsible and thorough in managing their investments. We strongly believe it is our job to empower that investor with the latest trading tools and lowest commissions.
