Active Traders

Active traders are stock traders who hold positions for a very short time and make a number of trades each day. Most active traders are also pattern day traders. Pattern day traders are individuals who place four or more day trades in five business days, unless his or her day-trading activities do not exceed 6% of his or her total trading activity for that time period.

Pattern day trading accounts must be margin accounts maintaining a minimum $25,000 in equity from the start and at all times during day trading activity. If you are unsure if you qualify as a Pattern Day trader please click here
